Stage Services

Friday 19th & Saturday 20th February see Hallam take on Uni in the ultimate battle of winter sports in the first part of Varsity 2010. There are five points for the main Varsity competition available at the events taking place at Sheffield Ski Village (Ski-ing and snowboarding on Friday) and Sheffield Arena (Ice Hockey on Saturday). Once again, Stage Services is providing all the technical equipment for the event and after party at the Ski Village.

It’s been a busy few weeks for Stage Services. The new look Bar Phoenix opened yesterday, as well as our first event of the year – Pounded.

It was a rather hectic weekend making sure we were ready, but we made it, and we’re all looking forward to a busy and successful Freshers Week.

It was a long day in the end, we finished at 6.30am! BIG thanks go to: Charli, Emily, Greg, Jamie, Lauren & Phil.

That was the last big event of the 08/09 academic year, but with Freshers Week 2009 only three months away there’s not much time to relax!

Less than 24 hours to go till the Summer Ball opens, and we’re all packed up & ready to go. We started at midday today, and 9 hours later, all the equipment we need has been taken apart and packed up into cases, sound systems configured and checked. It’s been a long day, but it should make tomorrow easier.

Special thanks to Dave & Ezra who helped out today but aren’t able to make the main event tomorrow.

The fun kicks off for us at midday tomorrow – see you all tomorrow night!

The trellis has changed!

This time next week the Summer Ball 2009 will be open!  Stage Services are still planning, but we’re now starting the actual preperation. We’ll be getting to City Hall at midday on Friday, spending all afternoon and the early evening rigging, programming and rehearsing to make it the best ball yet.
